The Association of Oregon Faculties (AOF) is an association that represents and protects the interests of Oregon’s public university faculty and professional staff before the Oregon Legislature and various state agencies. Our primary goal is to increase the quality of our professional working environment.
AOF is not a union, but it does work with all faculty governance groups including faculty unions to advocate for faculty interests. We hire a lobbying firm to represent us in the Legislature, with the Higher Education Coordinating Commission, with campus administrations, and with other bodies which influence and affect faculty.
AOF works with all public universities’ campus administrations to ensure faculty salary dollars are allocated fairly, and to see health and retirement benefits maintained for all.

AOF also works to protect faculty benefits outside the legislative process: we monitor the Public Employees Benefits Board (PEBB), attend the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) Board meetings, and participate in the PERS Coalition, which funds legal efforts to defend state employee pension plans in court proceedings.
